Overview
The Marriott Royalton Chic Cancun boasts nine restaurants and four bars. We’ve had the pleasure of trying seven of these restaurants over our visits in 2021 and 2024. Each offers a unique culinary experience, and we’re here to give you the lowdown.
The Buffet
The buffet is open daily from 6:30 to 11:00 AM for breakfast. For dinner, it’s open Thursday to Sunday from 6:00 to 10:00 PM, featuring a variety of cuisines. Please note that this schedule can change, so use it as a reference only.
We arrived at the buffet around 6:45 AM on a Wednesday, and it was pleasantly empty, though it usually gets pretty packed. The buffet area is spacious with beautiful views, making it a delightful place to start your day. The food quality is consistently good, with a vast selection of breads, Mexican dishes, and American breakfast staples.
Munchies Grill
Located at the pool bar area, Munchies Grill recently started serving food. Our butler recommended it, and we weren’t disappointed. The grill food is tasty, making it a great spot for a casual meal by the pool.
Italian Cuisine
For Italian food, there’s a to-go window for pizza and an indoor dining area for other Italian dishes. We tried the pizza, and while it was just okay, we decided to dine inside for a more comprehensive experience. Unfortunately, the pasta didn’t impress us, lacking the flavor and presentation we had hoped for.
Café Experience
Our previous visit left us with fond memories of the café, known for its excellent coffee, ice cream, and bakery items. The café continues to deliver, offering a variety of bakery options, sandwiches, and self-serve ice cream. It’s a great place to grab a snack or a quick coffee break.
Exclusive Dining for Diamond Members
For an elevated dining experience, Diamond members have access to exclusive areas and special menu items. While the exclusivity adds a touch of luxury, our experience this time was a bit disappointing due to seating issues. However, the food quality remains high, with dishes like buttery salmon and cheesy risotto standing out.
Final Thoughts
Overall, the dining options at the Marriott Royalton Chic Cancun are diverse and mostly satisfying. While there were a few misses, the majority of our meals were enjoyable. If you’re a foodie considering a stay here, you’ll likely find plenty to please your palate.
