A Culinary Delight

Dining Experience
We opted for the $60 per person set meal, which began with a cocktail and included a variety of appetizers and main courses. The menu featured a wide selection of wines, though it was too extensive to cover in detail here.
Appetizers:
- Crispy Polenta: Spanish chorizo with romesco sauce.
- Camaron Fundido: Shrimp in a spicy tomato sauce.
Both dishes were impressive. The crispy polenta was delightfully familiar with its spicy and vinegary notes, while the shrimp dish had a cheesy, tomato-like flavor reminiscent of Spanish pizza. The freshness and balance of flavors were notable.
Only thing we did not like was the bread. Bread was super SALTY! We provided the feedback to the server. This is my first time eating Latin food so I am not sure this is normal.
Main Course:
- Single Brisket: The portion of brisket was generously large, and the flavor was excellent, albeit a bit salty. The accompanying tortilla helped balance the saltiness.
- Roasted Chilean Seabass: We loved this seabass, it went very well with Peruvian Rice. Highly recommended.
Side Dishes:
- Peruvian Rice: A standout component of the meal, the rice was flavorful and complemented the main courses perfectly.
Dessert:
- Graham’s 10 Year Old Tawny Port: A sweet red wine that was robust and strong. It made for a pleasant end to our meal because it was sweet 🥰
Verdict
Was Renata’s Hearth worth it? We’d say yes and no. The restaurant’s atmosphere, especially in the winter nighttime, is enchanting. The unique take on Spanish cuisine is a refreshing change, and the $50 dining credit made the experience even better. However, some dishes were a bit too salty for our taste.
